The greening of buildings is attracting increasing attention as an effective measure against the negative effects of climate change and a climate-neutral solution to support indoor climate control. However, planners and building owners currently lack the possibility of quantifying the influence of greening measures on buildings and taking it into account, for example, in the context of an energy performance certificate. The aim of MARGRET is to propose adaptations to the calculation models or standards and, in parallel, to define procedures for measuring the effects. <\/p>\n\n
To this end, the specific physical effects of building greening are being investigated in a test setting that has never been published in this form before. We are using the two identical rooms of the AEE INTEC fa\u00e7ade test box as greened and non-greened, contemporary insulated reference objects and provide them with different, specially produced mobile fa\u00e7ade greenings in alternating cycles. The extensive measurement equipment of the test boxes together with numerous sensors in the outdoor area enable the isolated recording of the physical effects of the green fa\u00e7ades on the indoor comfort and energy requirements. In addition, two identical roof test fields – green and gravelled – were set up with the latest insulation standards in order to test the thermal and radiative effects of green roofs. Based on the results, recommendations for standardised measurement and testing procedures will be drawn up together with our partners.
