Task 40 examines technological development and implementation, market diffusion, diversity and complexity of biomass resources and value chains, logistics and competitive applications for bioenergy, bio-based chemicals and materials (bioeconomy), and other services (CO2<\/sub> sequencing and utilization, system stabilization services) with IEA bioenergy relevance.<\/p>\n\n

Task 40 sees its role and mission as clarifying the conditions for the use of bio-based value chains – especially bioenergy – within the bioeconomy, taking into account long-term climate and sustainability requirements, as well as the role of bioenergy and bio-derived high-value by-products in carbon management.
