The transition from a fuel-based, unidirectional to a renewable, de-centralized energy system requires the widespread adoption of new technological innovations. On the one hand, novel technologies may require information exchange and data transfer among different stakeholders and, hence, face a lack of acceptance from customers. On the other hand, the implementation of technical innovations may change end user behaviour. <\/p>\n\n
Distribution System Operators, typically have very little information about the load flows in their grids and, both, end users and energy suppliers, could benefit from a better knowledge of disaggregated consumption profiles.<\/p>\n\n
Disaggregated household data, particularly households and SMEs, will be processed in order to identify the households\u2019 most electricity consuming appliances, enabling a better understanding of electricity cost. Furthermore, consumption patterns and, based on that, forecast models will be developed providing a better understanding of load flows and enabling the identification of flexibility options in the energy system. In addition, persuasive strategies are envisaged for the Open Data Platform, helping to change the behaviour and underlying attitudes of participants in order to increase efficiency. User participation is critical for the widespread deployment of technological innovations. Hence, models of participation are developed for respective stakeholder groups, aiming to increase the rate of adoption. <\/p>\n\n
The Open Data Platform aims to provide all end users insight into their energy consumption or efficiency data, allowing a comparison with similar households, and tailor-made recommendations for energy relevant measures. This shall increase the understanding and acceptance among end users. The intended effect is a decentralized demand-side management by incentivizing the consumer to actively participate in the energy system and provide flexibility. <\/p>\n\n
The GEL ODP will be integrated in the overall Green Energy Lab coordination to ensure the open data approach and monitor key performance indicators of Green Energy Lab.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":2558,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-2559","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
