{"id":3186,"date":"2007-09-10T08:19:00","date_gmt":"2007-09-10T06:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/p688098.mittwaldserver.info\/project\/solar-air-conditioning-and-refrigeration-iea-shc-task-38\/"},"modified":"2025-04-02T09:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-04-02T07:47:11","slug":"solar-air-conditioning-and-refrigeration-iea-shc-task-38","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.aee-intec.at\/en\/project\/solar-air-conditioning-and-refrigeration-iea-shc-task-38\/","title":{"rendered":"Solar Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration IEA SHC Task 38"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A further goal is to spread the research and development results to the users and industry within short, in order to implement the results on the market.<\/p>\n\n<p>The work of the task is divided into four subtasks. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Subtask A: Pre-engineered systems for residential and small commercial applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Within the framework of this subtask, pre-engineered systems for solar heating and cooling are developed (based on the results of the IEA SHC Task 25 (\u201cSolar assisted air conditioning of buildings\u201d) and Task 26 (\u201cSolar combisystems\u201d)), tested and implemented in pilot projects.<br\/><br\/>The applications of these pre-engineered small systems (2-20 kW) are residential and small office buildings, where at present, conventional cooling systems can be designed and installed without extensive planning. Corresponding solar cooling systems should be developed for this market. This shall be possible by close cooperation with the industry. The solar thermal systems should consist of a solar combisystem, i.e. a system, which uses the solar energy for space heating and domestic hot water preparation. In addition to this, the system provides cooling energy with a small thermally driven cooling machine, for which the excess solar energy in the summer months will be used.      <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Subtask B: Custom-made systems for large non-residential buildings and industrial applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Concepts and design tools are developed for large solar cooling applications within this subtask. The goal is to overcome technical barriers, which still obstruct a broad market implementation of these systems. The application of these systems is large air-conditioning and refrigeration systems (large office and residential buildings, hotels and industry etc.), with a need for custom-made planning and control strategies, due to the complexity of the system. Planners, engineers and plant operators are target groups in this subtask.   <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Subtask C: Modelling and fundamental analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>This subtask deals with new and further development of solar cooling concepts and components, which are not yet ready for the market. The goals are: <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; To compile an overview of present research activities<br\/>&#8211; To develop tools, with which new solar cooling concepts can be compared<br\/>&#8211; To bring together present developments within the task, in order to find synergies between research institutes<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Subtask D: Market transfer activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>This subtask deals with topics, which are important for the other three subtasks.<\/p>\n\n<p>The goals are:<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; To identify barriers (mainly non-technical), which obstruct a broad market implementation of solar cooling<br\/>&#8211; To disseminate the task results and compile dissemination material for external communication<br\/>&#8211; To implement know-how transfer activities<br\/>&#8211; To develop instruments for decision makers and their dissemination<br\/>&#8211; Certification and standardization activities<\/p>\n\n<p>AEE INTEC is subtask leader of subtask A and is participating in all other subtasks.<br\/><br\/>The work within task 38 is accompanied by a know-how transfer program in cooperation with Austrian solar thermal companies.
