{"id":8969,"date":"2025-12-04T16:21:15","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T14:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aee-intec.at\/project\/solpol-6-eco-efficient-polyolefin-materials-for-energy-technologies\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T16:26:53","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T14:26:53","slug":"solpol-6-eco-efficient-polyolefin-materials-for-energy-technologies","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.aee-intec.at\/en\/project\/solpol-6-eco-efficient-polyolefin-materials-for-energy-technologies\/","title":{"rendered":"SolPol-6: Eco-efficient polyolefin materials for energy technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SolPol-6 addresses the production materials-related transformation towards a renewable energy system. <br\/>The project develops tailor-made polyolefin materials, semi-finished products and laminates for three key applications: (i) encapsulation materials for double-glass photovoltaic modules, (ii) liner and barrier systems for sensible large-scale heat storage in earth-basin construction, and (iii) polyolefin hollow-fiber membranes for the energy-efficient recovery of ammonia from wastewater. <\/p>\n\n<p>By using polyolefins, environmentally critical fluoropolymers are to be replaced, recyclability improved, and component lifetime increased.<\/p>\n\n<p>For PV modules, the focus is on avoiding edge compression and residual stresses, as well as on increasing the long-term durability of the encapsulation materials.<\/p>\n\n<p>For large-scale heat storage, impact-modified, temperature-resistant liners with integrated inorganic barrier layers are being developed to minimize heat losses and diffusion effects.<\/p>\n\n<p>In the field of water and membrane technology, crosslinked and functionalized polyolefin membranes are investigated to increase selectivity for ammonia and to recover highly concentrated NH\u2083 as an energy carrier.<\/p>\n\n<p>SolPol-6 contributes to SDGs 6, 7, 9, 12 and 13, and to strengthening Austria\u2019s position as an industrial location in the field of plastics for solar and sustainable energy technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":8968,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-8969","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
