InfraMess – Comparative monitoring study of infrared heating systems vs. a district-heating based radiator systems in a residential building (Kaindorf a.d. Sulm)
A two-year lasting, comparative study of an infrared heating system (electric supply) vs. a radiator heating system (district-heating supply) has been conducted. The study is based on extensive measurements performed at two identical residential buildings of six units each, located in the south of Austria. The study follows a holistic approach and therefore covers a variety of aspects: energy consumption, primary energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, thermal comfort, economic efficiency. In the relevant field of thermal comfort, an innovative measurement and simulation approach has been developed and implemented.
