Zukunftshof Rothneusiedl – the focal point of a model climate district
The “Zukunftshof” was built at the end of the 19th century and, following comprehensive renovation, will serve as a link to the new Vienna urban expansion area ‘RothNEUsiedl’ in the south.
IEA IETS Task 21
IEA IETS Task 21 strengthens international collaboration on carbon capture and industrial symbiosis. It compares CCUS strategies, analyses value chains, and supports circular economy approaches in industry.
EMPOWER – Experimental Mass Transfer Photoreactor Optimization within Engineered Research
EMPOWER develops advanced solar photoreactors for hydrogen production from wastewater and CO₂ reduction. By optimising reactor design, the project aims to significantly improve efficiency, resource use and climate impact.
GRISU-EX – Dual use of sprinkler tanks as thermal energy storages
Built once, used twice – this is the slogan of the ACR project GRISU-EX, which investigates how fire-fighting water tanks from sprinkler systems can be integrated into a building’s internal heating and cooling processes as thermal energy storage units.
SaKEM – Renovation solutions for decarbonising the building stock of Austrian KEM municipalities
An initiative for building renovation is important to support the energy transition in KEM municipalities – with solutions and measures for rapid and high-quality renovations.
DATAWiSE – Intelligent and Sustainable Building Management powered by Cross-Sectoral
Lifecycle
DATAWiSE will develop and test building management tools, leveraging cross-sectoral lifecycle data on the basis of an open, secure, interoperable, and scalable framework.
Municipal Heat Planning and Building Renovation Roadmap for Weiz
The project develops a municipal heat plan and a renovation roadmap for public buildings in Weiz, supporting a climate-neutral, affordable and resilient heat supply by 2040.
IEA SHC Task74 – Components for Thermal Energy Storage
International experts collaborate to improve the design of thermal storage components, to better determine the state-of-charge and to optimise the components’ integration in applications.
Reno Tides – Supporting staged massive Net Zero Retrofit with collective buy-in-schemes of insulated prefab façade & roof systems for housing
The EU-funded LIFE project RenoTides addresses the growing economic challenges of energy-efficient renovation of residential buildings. Through intelligent, phased “tidal” renovation programmes, the project supports non-profit housing providers in implementing net-zero renovations in a flexible, coordinated and long-term plannable manner.
Inter-municipal spatial energy planning WEIZplus
The project develops an integrated inter-municipal spatial energy planning approach for a large cooperation of municipalities in Eastern Styria. Based on the Styrian Heat Atlas and a GIS-based web service, harmonised energy analyses, zonings and strategies are created to support the coordinated and climate-friendly transformation of local and regional energy systems.
