Fossilfree4Industry – Phase out of fossil gas for the industry

© AEE INTEC

A transdisciplinary project team with 29 partners is working under the leadership of AEE INTEC on the “phase-out” of fossil energy supply, and in particular fossil gas, for the numerous industrial companies in the vicinity of the Weiz and Gleisdorf city axis.

The flagship project wants to address the current challenges by implementing relevant technological concepts for the substitution of fossil gas in industrial companies based on five large-scale model solutions.

“Fossilfree4Industry” represents a good practice model with high multiplication potential for future solution elements, processes and methods in industrial decarbonization. It shows that phasing out fossil fuels in industry is possible and makes economic sense. This will significantly accelerate the regional energy transition and help the region to become a model region throughout Austria. The experience gained from this project can then be transferred to many other regions and countries.
