The project combines 24 municipalities within the real-laboratory region WEIZplus Reallabor into a single integrated spatial planning area. The project establishes a harmonised data basis for spatial energy planning and develops coordinated strategies for renewable heat supply, district heating, waste heat utilisation and renewable electricity expansion.
A central element is a GIS-based web platform building on the Styrian Heat Atlas, extended by energy infrastructure data, spatial analyses and zoning approaches. This enables consistent energy assessments at municipal and regional level and supports their integration into spatial planning and local energy strategies.
