NextGES – Next Generation Energy Services for Intelligent Buildings and Energy Systems

Future intelligent energy systems will merge into an integrated overall system, which must intelligently connect different sectors, (decentralized) generation plants and energy storage systems by means of suitable infrastructures. Such a change will help to make all sectors sustainable and to leverage potential emission reductions. The supply of buildings and industry with sustainable heat and cold by means of district heating, anergy networks and comparable line-based concepts require sophisticated planning, operation and constant optimization due to the complexity of these systems, which is further increased by the possible role of such systems as an energy hub in the field of the sector coupling. One way to cope with this complexity is to provide energy services that are suitable and tailored to specific applications and target groups. Energy services such as model predictive control and predictive maintenance is of central importance in order to reduce the energy consumption of systems and to transform buildings into active, intelligent actors in higher-level energy systems.
The creation of a roadmap for further development after the project and for further commercial exploitation of the project results will take place within the framework of the project.
