PRO Service – Business model innovations for rental and service models in the manufacturing sector

PRO_Service aims to contribute to a better understanding of the economic and ecological potentials of an implementation of rental and service models in the manufacturing sector in Austria and to show which changes and R&D efforts are necessary in order to realize them through suitable business models. To this end, a comprehensive analysis of existing data and scientific work will be combined with a survey of R&D needs in the Austrian manufacturing sector.

In an innovative approach, the project aims to (1) update demand fields and suitability of rental and service models in the local-regional context of changing framework conditions, (2) identify future demand fields with regard to diffusion or development of new products and production goods, and (3) identify barriers and necessary regulations and incentives for the implementation of business model innovations.
