PROMISE Application
The goals have been reached by bringing together the results and experiences of the project partners in the so far conducted FdZ and EdZ projects, as well as via new and ongoing developments of important planning tools. The result of the conducted industry case studies should reach a minimum reduction of 20% of the CO2 emissions by energy efficiency measures and the implementation of solar heat. With the developed concepts, methods and tools, companies shall be enabled in the future to develop and realise sustainable energy concepts for industrial plants.
Final results:
- Availability of a further developed Pinch software, regarding the heat exchanger cost calculation and pay back calculation via connection to a heat exchanger data base and regarding the increase of heat recovery by a combination of processes that run shifted in time over heat storages (considerable progress)
- Extension of the „Matrix for energy efficiency and solar process heat for industry“ for the area of surface treatment of metals and plastics and for the further use of renewable energy sources (considerable progress)
- Design of a solar calculation programme for the calculation of integration of solar thermal heat in production processes (in progress)
- Stagnation behaviour for large solar plants: development of a cooler without external energy for the condensation of the heat carrier steam in pilot scale (in progress)
- Elaboration of a Contracting Manual for industrial companies and a standard contract for contracting of large-scale solar plants in industry (in progress)
- Development of detailed technical and economical concepts – already oriented towards realisation – in 3 case studies that show the energy savings through heat integration, use of energy efficient technologies and solar process heat (considerable progress)
