PROMISE DEMO IF
The project PROMISE DEMO – IF and its „partner-project“ PROMISE DEMO are based on the preliminary project PROMISE APPLICATION.
In the framework of PROMISE APPLICATION, several industry case studies with focus on energy efficiency and integration of renewable energies were conducted in the sectors of surface treatment of metals. For one of the participating companies, the developed concepts shall now be implemented.
PROMISE DEMO aims at “sharpening” and implementing the developed measures for heat recovery and energy-efficiency, as well as planning and constructing a large-scale solar thermal demonstration system. PROMISE DEMO – IF is meant to accompany and scientifically complement this demonstration project: the focus lies on the topics “stagnancy behaviour of large solar thermal systems”, technology-screening and implementation of a high-temperature heat pump for industrial heat supply and the monitoring of all the installed systems, as well as the solar thermal plant. The thus gained knowledge will results in significant advantages for the surface treatment industry of metals and plastic in terms of reduced demand of fossil fuels and reduced emission of CO2.
PROMISE DEMO – IF aims at the three following main goals:
- Erection of a large scale solar thermal system at the company Assmann Ladenbau GmbH
- Development of a special cooler for the improved control of the stagnation behaviour of large-scale solar thermal systems
- Screening for available technologies and providers, as well as dimensioning and, if applicable, integration of a high-temperature heat pump for the heat supply of industrial processes
- Monitoring of the installed systems (solar thermal system, heat pump) and holistic evaluation of all energy efficiency measures
