Renewables4Industry
By the integration of renewable energy carriers in the supply of industrial production processes, a significant contribution to the reduction of fossil CO2-emissions can be achieved. Therefore, the industrial key processes themselves have to be designed for the volatility / fluctuation of the energy supply or resp. have to be able to react on volatility / fluctuation of the energy supply. The possibility of an extensive demand response or corresponding storage potential is currently only marginal and has to be created.
The technology roadmap to be developed in the Renewables4Industry project identifies the development pathways of the necessary technologies and the necessary RTI (research, technology and innovation) -political instruments to
- significantly reduce the energy costs and the overall costs of austrian industry by 2050;
- make Austria a leading provider of new technologies by 2030.
For the preparation of the technology Roadmap, discussion papers are being developed within the scope of the project which
- evaluate / model the potential for the use of fluctuating renewable energy,
- identify suitable or resp. adaptable industrial key processes for the use of renewable energy sources
- reflect the technical, energy and legal frameworks of the supply infrastructure (especially grids)
AEE INTEC, as subcontractor will primarily contribute to the key processes of the food industry and will work on the development of technology policy recommendations.
