SeRenoWood – Optimising Serial Renovation with Prefabricated Timber Elements Using Value Management

© AEE INTEC, mit KI erstellt

The building sector faces the challenge of meeting the high demand for energy-efficient renovation in order to achieve climate targets. The SeRenoWood research project directly addresses this challenge by developing pre-competitive industry standards for serial renovation using prefabricated timber elements—an approach designed to enable fast, cost-efficient and resource-saving refurbishment.
Using the methodology of Value Management, requirements, costs and functions are systematically analysed and aligned to create technically sound and economically optimised solutions. Through close collaboration between research institutions, planners, industry partners and housing providers, SeRenoWood establishes the digital, technical and organisational foundations required to successfully implement serial renovation in the market.
With 19 industry partners, the Austrian Timber Industry Association, the Province of Styria and innovative building portfolio holders, SeRenoWood is strongly practice-oriented and focused on real-world implementation.
