Online Workshop “Membranes in Biorefineries” (IEA IETS Task 17)

The online workshop within IEA IETS Task 17, “Membranes in Biorefineries – Integration of emerging membrane separation processes in biorefineries for research, industry and decision-makers,” brings together researchers, industry representatives and PhD candidates to exchange knowledge on energy- and resource-efficient membrane technologies for biorefinery applications.

The program features an invited keynote giving an overview of membrane use in biorefineries, several expert talks on topics such as membrane materials, membrane distillation, contactors, and membrane modules, as well as short pitch presentations by PhD candidates showcasing their research and project work.

The workshop aims to foster international networking, stimulate discussion on current and emerging membrane applications, and contribute input to an updated guideline document on the integration of membrane processes in biorefineries and is hosted by AEE INTEC and TU Wien.
